John Frusciante - With no one (To record only water for ten days album) Lyrics : Seal your wide shores With no one in between You feel your fading dial You know someone's happened And you shouldn't feed these things But let's go Fading away your nights You fade to white You lay me down as I go to the store Sorrow ate me, I'm not me anymore Play these heavens one more time I'm not yours and I'm ...
Indian Summer - Angry Son
Просмотров 276 тыс.14 лет назад
In the stone heart of an angry son, an angry son who has done his swallowing, his memories are bitten pills, so many bitten pills that he has collected. The broken ground he now moves on, this ground so unsettled, so endlessly unsettled. On the way to the sunken earth, and still he moves on This is earth Has moved on and collected, settled to his own liking, and still he moves on A voice in the...

Funeral Diner - My Fist Smells Like Graveyard
Still one of the best bands to come out of Amsterdam (and some of the best dudes) I met Ralph (drums) in Hilversum when we were both going on the train back home. He was wearing a "Calculating Infinity" hoodie (Dillinger Escape Plan), so I had to talk to him. Turns out he was going to the same school as me - many a train ride after that, talking about music. He was in another band at the time - went to see them live in Tivoli (I might have things mixed up - seem to remember they supported Boy Hits Car..?) And Geert (bass) filled in on bass in my own band for a euro tour The release show for this EP was so amazing... In the Stubnitz (an old war ship, then docked in Amsterdam), supporting EF (Who were touring "Give Me Beauty.. Or Give Me Death" at the time). Absolutely blown away... Bands that know each other are generally nice about each other's music... But I'm quite awkwardly honest about these things; This EP genuinely had an impact on me - it really hit me in the feels, and it was almost TOO good as a first effort (I had the opening track on repeat for like 1 or 2 months) Anyways - thx for putting this online, yo
wow first time hearing this. incredible
Song really connected with me as a kid. Lost my brother to a terminal illness and one of my best friends to a police shooting. This song encapsulated what I felt as a kid. Anger, angst, sorrow.
loved this song since 8th or 9th grade❤️🙏
Still here listening
just lookin for samples
Listening in 2024
For years I’ve felt angry at my dad for walking out on me, my two brothers and our sister. When I discovered this song, it felt like all the anger erupted and I’m able to come to terms that my dad doesn’t give a shit, but I’m not alone and I discovered the greatest emo song, so I’ll be fine
first time i head this track, was on a mix tape around 2000-2001, fucking changed my life (was like 17-18 at the time), i was introduced to this whole world of the late 80's early 90's underground emo/hardcore movement. just feels more special to get into a genre that is still relatively unknown to many.
I used to listened to this song in high school a lot
Real
ohhggh my god
Man I’m from chile and 32 right now. I still remember the first time I listened to this song as it truly defined my music taste
gotta sample this
i love you russell
Never gets old…
banger
try Heaven In Her Arms
Have a nice trippp
currently bawling my eyes out to this song. i needed that
could i use this song in a non-commercial project?
This is an "emo" classic. Absolutely chilling and powerful song.
Emo isn't a genre of music. This is post hardcore. Emo is a slur created by hardcore kids in the mid 80's and adopted by posers and the mainstream music media. I know because I was there when it happened. It's ok though, it is a good song.
How about "commanders summer?"
this song can make me cry without fail literally just from the intro
Aww fuck me... I need a cigarette because this song fucks so hard
💖💖
nice
I'm the angry son
Pretty sick wonder if they have anything else

Hey there, didn't notice you were choking You'll get used to all the smoke here And the ones that you've been breeding They've changed me I feel different when I'm moving Spending all the love that you've been thieving On things without a meaning And the ones that you've been swarming Hey there, I feel different when I'm moving I feel different when I'm breathing

See If I'll Care by Bessie Smith sampled at the start and end.
the band that exposed me to Bessie Smith, forever grateful
wow.
I remember crying myself to sleep listening to this in 1994 when my father walked out on my family and left us with a pile of bills and so much heartache. Wherever you’re Dad, although to me you died in 1994… I am more the man than you ever were.

The stupid kids with their ridiculous hairstyles and Hot Topic clothes eventually grew out of that shit but this classic remains remembered and cherished well after they were a thing.
Such a spectacular song 🤟
this is what I consider a jewel rare and utterly priceless
Thanks for the comfort
